Officer-Involved Shooting:
Initial Response to the Aftermath
An officer involved shooting is one of the most stressful and tragic events in one's career. After the incident, it is essential that organizational leadership does their part correctly. The initial response by a supervisory officer must ensure officer protections while at the same time ensure public safety concerns are addressed. This short workshop provides a foundation for this response and is designed to inspire agencies, supervisors, officers, and union representatives (if your state has unions) to initiate the conversation before an event occurs or, if you already had an event like this, before another event occurs again.
Access for completion of this course is granted for six months from the date of enrollment.
Although this course was designed for the New Jersey workshop, the lessons learned are valuable and applicable for any state.
