J. Harris Academy of Police Training!

This workshop/micro-course is designed to provide a foundation for officers and supervisors who may unfortunately have to respond to an officer-involved shooting. This is meant to guide officers/supervisors in the initial aspects of the response to ensure we adhere to 'best practices' for these highly volatile investigations. After this program is reviewed, it is essential that the participant read their current organizational policy/orders to ensure they know what the expectations are of their specific organization. Group discussion with other officers/supervisors of the agency should also take place to ensure teamwork and collaboration exists ensuring the most effective and efficient response that will protect the officer(s) involved, those on scene, supervisors, organizational administration, the agency, the city/municipality, and our profession.
